     Cal poly fully known as California Polytechnic State University also known as CSU is a public institution that is suited in San Luis Obispo. The university happens to be one of the two polytechnics in the California State University System. Academically, the University is sectioned into six colleges which offers 65 bachelors’ and 39 master’s degree.

They run about 500 approved study abroad programs in relatively 75 countries and these programs divided or rather categorized into different options which includes; Cal Poly global programs, Cal Poly international exchanges, Cal poly Partner Programs, CSU international programs and National Student Exchange.
Well for a better understanding, I will be explaining in details what these options stands for;

Cal Poly Global Program:
     The courses under this program are taught in English Language by the institution faculty in a variety of global destinations. This particular study abroad program can take place in quarter, summer or spring break. For one to be accepted for this program you must earn Cal Poly credit towards major, minor and GEs.

Cal Poly International Exchange Programs: 
   This particular study abroad program is only available for semester or academic year. The program options in the College of Engineering and College of Architecture and Environmental Design. You also need to earn Cal Poly or transfer credit towards your major, minor or GEs.

CSU International Programs: 
   This is only available to all existing students in the CSU system for an academic year. This is only an immersion program at over 50 distinguished universities in 18 countries.

National Student Exchange:
    This entails domestic exchange opportunities at more than 190 universities which is available for up to a year. With this program, you can study abroad in US, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam or the US Virgin Islands. For this, you need to earn transfer credit towards your major, minor and GEs.

Col Poly Partner Programs: 
    This is mainly made for the international students who don’t come from the US, with this program you will be able to study abroad with US as an International Student for a summer, semester or academic year. There are also awesome opportunities that comes with this program which includes; Internship, Work-abroad and Volunteer opportunities which are all available. For this, you need to earn transfer credit towards your major, minor and GEs.
    Again aside from these approved study abroad programs, the university also offers Non-affiliated study abroad programs. The non-affiliated study abroad program is usually meant for students who wish to study abroad in the institution independently without going through the Initial approved study abroad programs of the Institution as I earlier explained. This independent study abroad program could be quite expensive as it requires careful academic, financial and logistical planning.
